Editorial Policy

Purpose

Our content is intended to help users understand common short-term credit concepts, compare considerations, and locate relevant financial-service resources. It is not individualized financial or legal advice.

Source hierarchy

For legal or regulatory topics, preference should be given to primary sources such as federal and state regulators, statutes, official provider disclosures, and licensing databases. Commercial sources may be used for supplementary context.

Geographic pages

City and state pages should distinguish geographic information from actual product availability. Nearby business listings should be labeled according to the business's real category rather than being automatically described as payday lenders.

Claims and language

Content should avoid unverified promises such as guaranteed approval, guaranteed funding time, guaranteed rates, “no credit check” claims, or other statements that cannot be substantiated for every provider.

Updates and corrections

Loan rules, provider terms, and local business information can change. Material pages should be reviewed periodically and corrected when reliable new information becomes available.

Commercial separation

Advertising relationships may affect placement but should not change factual standards. See our Advertising Disclosure.
